The Parent-Child Guide is HRM Metro’s ONLY Oldest & Largest Free Family Newspaper since 1995

It has been publishing for  over 27 years!  THIS APRIL 19th, 2023 IS OUR 28TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY EDITION

Our full tabloid-sized, full color publication is locally owned. It is produced every second month, with 8,000 copies distributed to over 200 high traffic locations throughout Halifax Regional Municipality.The Parent-Child Guide reaches a target market of families, couples & individuals ranging in age from 20 to 80 plus.

Readership is estimated to be over 300,000 per year or 50,000 per edition with an estimated 7-million readers since 1995.

All our major articles are written by local professionals.  These include doctors, psychologists, counsellors, educators, health consultants. Over 65% of our loyal advertisers have been in our newspaper since 2000 or close to it.

Editorial content is directed toward a general interest audience of men and women 20 to 80 years of age. Our newspaper consists of positive, helpful and informative articles for adults, teens and children. Topics include relationship issues, self help suggestions, general health, child safety, and pet care, also we have HRM's largest March Break Camp & Summer Camp Guide Sections in our December, February, April & June Editions each year.
